Overall, despite its many many questionable (to say the list) points, the truth is that I binge read it, enjoyed it, and actually still remember it very well a couple months later, which is almost unprecedented for me. I thought its approach to the whole magic world and to magic itself was interesting, and very original. I also found it very interesting to read. ![]() And even though I didn't like the views it expressed I thought that they fit well with the world and characters the author was portraying. 'Welch identified Dolores Umbridge as the one who hired him and his friends to kill Harry Potter, Fleur Delacour and both of their hostages during the second task. 'Theres no mistake.' Amelia Bones said uncompromisingly. It was commissioned by a reader who didn't like the fact that Hermione got turned into a pancake at the very start of For Love of Magic (which the mods, may crotch lice eternally feast on their genitalia, have since deleted for reasons never explained to me) and decided that he would pay me to write this one-shot time travel fic in. It was an odd thing, what magic did to people, how it moved them away from conventional humanity. Getting her to stop taking magic for granted had taken a while, but he had managed it and her presence had been steadily gaining strength since then. Even though I'm not much for dark-Harry fics, I couldn't put it down. 'There has to be some mistake.' Fudge fretted, worrying at his bowler hat. As indicated by the summary, this is a commissioned work. Dora was doing well, had been doing well for some time. On the other hand, however, I found that, for a fic, it was extremely well written, and the plot and characters were well thought out and developed. I quite disagree with a lot of the opinions it expresses and found it racist and insulting. On the one hand I find myself hard-pressed to support and promote it because it had many things I did not like and many things that made me wanna punch someone. I actually had to take a while before deciding. I find it hard to rate and review this fic. 3 star (fanfiction) rating not including the vitriol spewed. I suppose I’ll just consider him a less talented, otaku version of Orson Scott Card. It’s a long somewhat good story written by a shitty person who randomly self-inserts. Fortunately these jarring tirades (and the smut I suppose) don’t appear until the story has taken off and because they are so irrelevant, they can be skimmed over if you have thick enough skin and interest in the story. ![]() His attempt to integrate regurgitated hate group propaganda with his cynical protagonist growing up in an isolated magical world fails to come off as naturally as he intended. literal rants this would be a more palatable story. If the author could hire an editor to remove all of his sexist, racist, and etc. All that is written above is still valid, plus the author is prejudice against basically everything and anyone other than the average white male. Honestly I’m hoping he stole some of his cool ideas from a better fic so I can find and read that one.Īpparently he didn’t steal his cool ideas from a different fanfic, or at least I couldn’t find one that had similar content. I don’t know where the plot went, or if it’s ever coming back, but I’ve spent too many chapters waiting for it to show up again. Unfortunately it got bogged down by chapters filled with meaningless sex and harem building.
